LAUNCHING A SCALABLE BRAND & FRANCHISE: THE POD HOTEL
CHALLENGE
Rebrand a hotel with very tiny rooms that would attract a new, young and international audience without turning off their existing, older audience. The vision of the interior architect, Vanessa Guilford, was to create a mid-century modern design, an homage to Charles Eames and Jean Prouvé, so Far From Timid designed the brand–naming, brand identity, and on-property materials for the hotel that would complement that vision.
SOLUTION
For the name, we selected POD, reminiscent of the mid-century word used to describe the interior space of an airplane in the 50’s + 60’s. The idea of POD is intimate and style forward–a description we used to drive the brand voice and tagline–Sleep Tight, Stay Happy. We chose a vibrant color palette and textures that included wood and metal textures honoring mid-century sensibilities.
We developed all materials from brand strategy, naming, website, signage, on-property activation.
We also created the concierge program and developed daily curated Survival Guides for guests to use to program their day.
